Madda

Maddalena is a UX Lead passionate about tackling complex problems in the digital space. Intrinsically curious, she never takes anything for granted. She believes that to solve a problem, you first need to understand it. And to understand it, you need to proactively ask the right questions to the right people. Leveraging her analytical skills, she then defines and creates intuitive and engaging user experiences that strike a fine balance between functionality and aesthetics.

Her expertise is in interaction design, design thinking, prototyping, responsive design, data visualization, user journeys, digital strategy, usability, and information architecture. She has refined her skills by working for a number of digital agencies, such as Wunderman, RAPP, Greater Than One and Evoke Health.

Maddalena has a Ph.D. in computational and theoretical physics from the University of Amsterdam, and she has conducted research at international institutions such as New York University, University College London, and Schlumberger Cambridge Research, with focus on understanding the behavior of proteins and fluid dynamics.

Her vision for design is paired with computational and modeling expertise. She applies the scientific method to problem solving by analyzing the available data, synthesizing them, building a model, testing and iterating.

Maddalena currently calls Los Angeles home, but she often travels to New York City to meet with clients, and she has lived in Rome (where she was born), Milan, Amsterdam, Cambridge, London, Lyon and New York City.
